The BOA is officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the National Olympic Committee (NOC) for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, with responsibility for the conduct and management of all Olympic-related activity in those countries. The BOA’s primary responsibility is to select, lead and support Team GB on their journey to and during, the Olympic Winter Games, the Olympic Games the Youth Olympic Games and other IOC designated events including the European Youth Olympic Festivals and the European Games.

The British National Governing Bodies for Olympic sport comprise the membership of the BOA. The BOA seeks to support and serve this membership by being a strong, independent and credible voice of British Olympic Sport within the UK and internationally.

The BOA’s Board of Directors are predominantly made up of elected representatives from the Olympic sports as well as International Olympic Committee Members and Non-Executive Directors as well as the Chair of the BOA Athletes Commission. The BOA is an independent and privately funded organisation that relies mainly upon the income it receives from commercial programmes as well as fundraising and events.

TeamGBWorks Manager

Due to the ongoing success of the TeamGBWorks proposition, the candidate criteria and scope of the position have been amended and this is now a full-time role (5 days per week), we are therefore re-opening applications for this exciting opportunity with the British Olympic Association.

TeamGBWorks has been designed by the British Olympic Association (BOA) to translate the successes of Team GB into relevant messages to share in the corporate environment, to help our Partners inspire their staff and think differently, all with a view to supporting high performance.

The TeamGBWorks Manager will be the ‘face’ of this sub-brand with our Partners. The postholder will need to have credibility... to be the representative of the BOA when promoting the lessons that can be learned from the world of high performance sport across the three pillars of TeamGBWorks – The Business of Winning; Realise Your Potential; Be Your Best Self.

This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an Olympic athlete with at least two years demonstrable experience of working within a corporate culture in a commercial capacity. The individual would need to be a motivated, self-starter, comfortable with both the administrative and strategic elements of the role and able to continue the development of a unique, exciting and engaging project, with high profile access to BOA staff, athletes and senior stakeholders from Team GB’s partners.
